5 U.S. Cities With Amazing Architecture

One of the best parts of visiting a new place is checking out the architecture that makes it stand apart from its counterparts. Here are five U.S. cities that feature amazing architecture.

New York

There is no better place in the country to take in the magic of soaring skyscrapers than in New York City. One of the best places to photograph the stunning skyline is from across the Hudson River in Jersey City. While in the city, be sure to check out the unique architecture of treasures such as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and the Flatiron Building.

Miami

The pervasive Art Deco architecture style distinguishes Miami from any other city in the world. In addition to the Art Deco District of South Beach, be sure to check out styles such as Mediterranean Revival and Miami Modern (MiMo). Another place to put on your itinerary is the famous Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, featuring the elegant Baroque style of architecture.

New Orleans

The architecture of the Crescent City is a direct representation of rich history and cultural significance. The iconic Creole townhomes dot the landscape of the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. The French Quarter is also home to the original colonial Spanish and French architecture of the region. St. Charles Avenue is where you want to go to see the classic Southern mansions that reflect a variety of architectural styles. Before you leave, don’t forget to try one of Louisiana’s famous beignets at Cafe Du Monde or another local restaurant.

Washington, D.C.

The diverse cultural melting pot of Washington, D.C., is reflected in its vast array of architectural offerings. From the White House and Union Station to the various museums and monuments, the nation’s capital is a true treasure. Within its styles, you will find representations of ancient Egypt, classical Greece, medieval Europe, and much more.

Chicago

The Windy City has long been associated with famous architects, such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan. As the home of the world’s first skyscraper, it is no surprise that Chicago is deeply proud of its architectural roots. One of the best ways to take in these buildings is with a Chicago River architecture boat tour. Whether you take a formal guided tour or simply set out on foot to see these iconic styles, be sure to check out all of the nooks and crannies of these five cities. You will find architectural treasures around nearly every corner if you keep your eyes open.
